Humane Society of Elmore County News – 12 Jul ‘10

Pet-of-the-Week Yosti is a six month old smaller Hound/Lab mix who is only about 30 lbs and was turned in for chasing the neighbors chickens. He is housetrained, loves everyone and is just a wonderful little guy who needs a home full of toys to keep him happy. Yosti’s adoption fee is $100 which covers his neuter, basic immunizations, de-worming, microchip, heartworm check for dogs, rabies vaccination if old enough, and a free health exam. And our cats and kittens still have a reduced adoption fee of $40 which still covers all of the normal adoption benefits. Trudy is a seven month old smaller Shepherd/Husky mix looking gal who is just a sweet dog of about 35 lbs that needs a family to call her own. She has been with us for too long now which we don't understand as she is as cute as she can be, loves the water, is great with other dogs and is just a wonderful girl. Hank has a very melodious hound bay, which could be a bit much for close neighbors, but great for those who appreciate a great Beagle voice. Pet of the Week Meet Ben! Ben is one of those Black Labs everyone talks about that never get a home. I am determined to prove everyone wrong and so are the folks at the shelter. I am about five months old & around 40 lbs. I am just a great dog who loves everyone, gets along great with other dogs, and thinks having a family of my own would be beyond cool!! The shelter even said they would reduce my adoption fee to help get me a home - not just any home, but a really good home. Pet of the Week Bandit is a wonderful and handsome two year old neutered male kitty who is just as loving as he can be, great with other cats, and just needs a lap to call his own. Bandit has been with us far too long and the only special need he has is to be fed a Sensitive System type dry food which can be found at any of our area Pet Supply Stores and even large retailers. We will even reduce Bandit’s adoption fee by half to get him into a loving and caring home.
