It was another super Supply Drive thanks to all of the supportive shoppers at the Millbrook Wal-Mart this past Saturday. Not only did we receive a wonderful amount of donated supplies, but we also received $425 in cash donations! So many, many thanks to all who supported us and to Bonnie Jones, Sheron Milton, Angie Melton , Kathryn Katechis & daughter, Cheryl Phillips, Amy Hall & Sharon Neely who volunteered their time to help make this such a success.

If you don’t shop in Tallassee or Millbrook, not to worry as we are having the last of our three supply drives at the Wetumpka Wal-Mart this coming Sat, 5 Sep from 10 am – 2 pm. The donations received at these truly help us as money saved on cleaning and office supplies can go to animal medical supplies which directly benefit our animals.
Since the coming weekend is the Labor Day holiday we will NOT be doing any adoptions at the area PETsMARTs this Saturday. The shelter and Thrift Store will, however, be open our normal hours on Saturday, 5 Sep, but we will be closed Monday, 7 September in observance of Labor Day. We do want to thank the adoption crew from this past weekend for helping find some of our pups great new homes – thanks to Lucia Penland, Larry Street , Randy & Ann Lucas and Joe and Rose Enslen.
And since it is also a Santuck Saturday on the 5th, our Tails End Thrift Store is going to have a huge “Clear out the Back Building ” Yard Sale at the shelter. Our thrift store storage building is so full that it is time to move out inventory, so you just never know what treasures will be awaiting you this Saturday starting at 9 am! We do ask that everyone be careful of the traffic and parking as we know this might bring a lot of parking on the sides of Hwy 9 and we certainly don’t want anyone to have an accident.
It is now less than one month to our Bark in the Park at Ft. Toulouse on Sunday, 27 September from 1-5 pm! This year’s event T-Shirt is a brilliant purple with a design that just says FUN! You can check it out on our website at www.elmorehumane.com and also get more information on all of the great events that will be taking place. There is still room for vendors to add to the mix and the vendor applications are also on-line and easy to download. A vendor space is only $35, but please do contact us first as we need to make sure we don’t have duplicate type products or events. For vendor or other questions feel free to contact us at hselco@bellsouth.net or give us a call at 334-567-3377.
We hope everyone has a safe and fun Labor Day weekend!
